Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], Nov 21, (ANI): With assembly polls in the state inching closer, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President Amit Shah is leaving no stone unturned to campaign for his party to retain power in the state.
Upping his ante against the Opposition on Wednesday, Shah claimed that the Congress Party destroyed democracy with three "cancers"- casteism, nepotism and appeasement.
While interacting with youth under the 'Yuva Ri Baat Amit Shah Re Saath' in Rajasthan's capital city Jaipur, Shah said, "The Congress has ruled more than 50 years after independence but the party infected the nation with three cancers: casteism, nepotism, and appeasement. The three maladies have eaten the merits of growth and development."
He further said that the Congress party left a budget of only Rs 94,000 crore for Rajasthan, but as soon as the BJP came to power, the budget was increased to Rs 12,60,000 crores.
"Rahul Gandhi is a daydreamer. Since the time Narendra Modi government came into power in 2014, the Congress has gone missing. How will a party that doesn't have internal democracy take care of the democracy of the whole nation?" he asked.
During Shah's one-day election tour to poll-bound Rajasthan, he also held a roadshow in Bikaner city of the state.
Rajasthan will go to polls on December 7, and results will be declared on December 11.
