New Delhi (India), Nov 18 (ANI): The Supreme Court has dismissed a petition seeking direction to the Central government for proper implementation of Article 146 of the Constitution. The said article deals with the appointments of officers and servants of the Supreme Court.

A three-judge bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Justice Ranjan Gogoi observed that the petition lacked merit and hence dismissed the same.

"The petition is devoid of merits and substance. We are dismissing it," observed the three-judge bench of the Apex Court that also comprised Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul and K M Joseph on Friday.

Advocate Debashish Misra representing the petitioner requested the apex court to direct the Central government to properly implement the Article 146 of the Indian Constitution. (ANI)
