The 16-year-old shattered the earlier record of 243.7 points to set a new world record with a total point tally of 245.5.
Arjum Singh Cheema, another Indian in the fray, finished third on the podium with a score of 218.0 points while Lim Hojin of Korea settled for a silver medal with a total score of 243.1 points.
In the team event, Indian squad comprising Saurabh Chaudhary, Arjun Singh Cheema and Anmol won a silver medal with a score tally of 1,730 points.
While Korean team, comprising Lim Hojin, Sung Yunho and Shin Okcheol, finished on top of the podium with a total of 1,732 points, Alexander Petrov, Aleksandr Kondrashin and Anton Aristarkhov of Russia settled for a bronze with a point tally of 1,711.
In the recently-concluded Asian Games, Chaudhary had bagged the gold medal after topping the chart with 240.7 points while his Indian counterpart Abhishek Verma had to settle for the bronze with a point tally of 219.3 in the men's 10m Air Pistol event. (ANI)
