Washington DC, [USA] Oct 29 (ANI): The roof of a bar in Greece is designed to move like a sea wave, and is now taking the internet by storm.Located at the picturesque Greek resort in Costa Navarino, the Barbouni beach bar's moving roof is now a thing of wonder, as the ridged canopy roof whistles as the sea breeze hits it. After an Instagrammer visiting the beach bar posted a video on his account on August 04, the video has garnered 275,855 views so far. The restaurant-cum-bar has been designed by a Greek architectural firm, k-studio. An official from K Studio, Dimitris Karampatakis, told CNN that the idea was not to design something static in front of a "dynamic landscape".A senior architect of this project, Costantza Sbokou-Constantakopoulou, said that the inspiration was taken in from "the dynamic and hypnotic movement of the waves of the sea."The restaurant that opened in 2011, sits on a wooden platform, which is composed of natural wooden columns. The roof has been constructed using a specialised outdoor curtain fabric. The owners of the restaurant have to occasionally face ceiling damage. But having replacements at hand helps because the roof is changed during the off-season.Sbokou-Constantakopoulou added that the restaurant was built on an experimental basis, but the social media fame was a surprise. The resort located in the Greek region of Messinia in the southwest area of Peloponnese; sits on white sandy beaches with turquoise coloured sea waters providing a picture-perfect contrast.
