Washington D.C [U.S.A], Oct 15 (ANI): Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson's breakup news may have surprised their fans, however, the 'Saturday Night Live' star joked about a predictable split for months, way before their breakup.

Davidson had quipped quite a few times that they wouldn't last. About two months after the comedian proposed to the singer, he teased that Grande would soon realize they weren't meant to be, reported E! Online.

"I'm still convinced she's blind or hit her head really hard. Something is going to happen, and she's going to be like, 'What the f--k is this thing doing around?' For right now, it's rocking," he told Variety.

However, this wasn't the only time that the 'SNL' star had joked about 'No Tears Left To Cry' singer dumping him. He also laughed about it during a segment of 'Weekend Update' on a recent episode of 'SNL'. When his co-star Colin Jost asked if they had a prenuptial agreement, to which Davidson responded saying, "Well, obviously, I wanted one. So, God forbid we split up and she takes half my sneakers."

The comedian then made a joke about switching her birth control pills with Tic Tacs, which lead to a bit of criticism.

"No, I believe in us and all," he continued, "but you know, I just want to, like, make sure that she can't go anywhere," the comedy star said.

The news of the couple's break up came out just about four months after the two got engaged.

However, it's no secret that the 'Yours Truly' singer hasn't been doing good emotionally, ever since her ex-boyfriend rapper Mac Miller passed away on September 7.

The singer has constantly been trying to stay away from the public appearance. She recently pulled out of her scheduled performance at the F--k Cancer Gala at Warner Bros. Studios in Los Angeles.

Earlier this month, the singer also skipped the 2018 Emmy awards. (ANI)
