Parineeti on Tanushree-Patekar Row: Really Hope It's the First, Last Story
Bollywood actors Parineeti Chopra and Arjun Kapoor spoke up about the ongoing controversy involving Tanushree Dutta and Nana Patekar.
New Delhi [India], Oct 3 (ANI): Bollywood actors Parineeti Chopra and Arjun Kapoor spoke up about the ongoing controversy involving Tanushree Dutta and Nana Patekar.
Although a lot of people have been referring to the 'Me Too movement' while talking about the controversy, Parineeti hoped that the issue was one of its kind. "This is not the start of a Me Too movement, because that would mean that there is more than one story. And I really hope this is the first story," she said.
The 'Meri Pyaari Bindu' actor continued "Having said that, if there are any other women in the industry who have been through the same thing, I want every woman to come out there and speak because if they don't speak now, they will forever be suppressed."
Parineeti also said that while she has never had a similar experience, she would have never kept quiet if something like that had happened to her.
Meanwhile, her 'Namaste England' co-star Arjun Kapoor said that if what Tanushree has said is true, she will win. "Today a girl has shown courage to show the truth and if it is true, she will definitely win."
Opining that Tanushree deserves to be heard, the 'Ishaqzaade' actor said, "that girl has come out and spoken about something that is so dreaded that you would think a million times in this country before coming out and speaking about it. She deserves to be heard, before being judgmental, before pointing fingers and before making it a debate."
Dutta has alleged that Patekar misbehaved with her on the sets of the film 'Horn Ok Pleasss'. She has accused him of harassing her while shooting for a special dance number in the movie and also claimed that dance choreographer Ganesh Acharya teamed up against her.
Many B-town celebrities have come out in support of Dutta including Priyanka Chopra, Parineeti Chopra, Farhan Akhtar, Swara Bhaskar, Shilpa Shetty, Kalki Koechlin, and Sonam Kapoor Ahuja.
Meanwhile, Patekar's lawyer reportedly sent a legal notice to Dutta, demanding a written apology from her for maligning his image. (ANI)
