Islamabad [Pakistan], May 3 (ANI): The Pakistan Foreign Office announced on Wednesday that it will release an Indian prisoner, owing to his deteriorating health.

A statement from the Foreign Office said that Pakistan will release Indian citizen Jatindra, who is suffering from a blood disease, on humanitarian grounds, Geo TV reported.

The statement said that Jatindra was arrested in 2014 and his citizenship was confirmed by India in April earlier this year.

It further stated that Pakistan released 147 Indian fishermen lodged in Karachi's Malir prison as a goodwill gesture, and indicated that the country expects India to reciprocate the gesture by releasing 48 Pakistani prisoners in India. (ANI)
