Bhubaneswar, Nov 5 (PTI) Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Monday gave away scholarships and laptops to the students who excelled in the annual High School examinations and Plus-II examinations, an official statement said.

Patnaik gave away two scholarships - Mukhya Mantri Medha Bruti (Chief Minister's Merit Scholrship) and Odia Bhasabruti (Odia language scholarship) - to students who performed well in the annual high school examinations.

The scholarships were given through video conferencing at the State Secretariat here.

As many as 3549 students availed the Odia Bhasabrutti while 35,490 meritorious students received Mukhyamantri Medhabrutti, a statement said.

Altogether 1061 schools were also given the Utkrusta Vidyalaya Proschahana Puraskar in recognition of their efforts to encourage Odia language among the students.

Similarly, 15,000 Plus II students, who performed well in the examination, were given a laptop each.
