Nagaland Govt Focused on Improving Quality of Roads: Minister
Nagaland minister Neiba Kronu on Sunday said the People's Democratic Alliance (PDA) government is focused on improving the quality of roads in the state.
Kohima, Sep 30 (PTI) Nagaland minister Neiba Kronu on Sunday said the People's Democratic Alliance (PDA) government is focused on improving the quality of roads in the state.
In an interaction with media persons at his official residence here, the Minister for Planning, Coordination and Land Revenue said the state government had set a target of 60 days for repair and maintenance of all major roads.
However, he said the target was yet to be achieved due to the announcement of bye-election to a vacated Lok Sabha seat and torrential rains.
Kronu said that the state government would forward proposals to the Centre, seeking funds for improvement of roads in Nagaland.
"While the sanction is awaited from the Centre, which may take time, the state government decided to make use of the available resources and advertise tenders for undertaking the road repair works," he said.
"We want to repair all major roads, including other necessary public amenities before the commencement of the festive season, especially Christmas," Kronu added.
