Washington D.C. [U.S.A.], July 26 (ANI): US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Wednesday told the Senate Foreign Relations Committee that North Korea was still producing fissile material.

He further said that progress was being made in connection with the process of denuclearisation of North Korea.

"We are engaged in patient diplomacy, but we will not let this drag out to no end. I emphasised this position in the productive discussions I had with Vice Chairman Kim Yong-chol," Yonhap News Agency quoted Pompeo, as saying.

He further noted that there was an 'awfully long way to go' in dialogue and 'a great deal of work to do'.

"Our objective remains the final, fully verified denuclearisation of North Korea, as agreed to by Chairman Kim Jong-un," he added.

On Tuesday, US President Donald Trump, while addressing the Veteran of Foreign Wars convention, said that North Korea had begun the process of dismantling a key missile site.

"We are pursuing the denuclearisation of North Korea and a new future of prosperity, security and peace on the Korean Peninsula and all of Asia," CNN quoted Trump, as saying. (ANI)
