New Delhi [India], Nov 19 (ANI): Drivers from across the motorsport world have sent their good wishes to teenage driver Sophia Floersch who fractured her spine during a Formula 3 race in Macau.

Mick Schumacher, the son of legendary Formula One driver Michael Schumacher, took to Twitter and hoped for Floersch and others injured to recover soon.

"An Sophia und die anderen Unfallbeteiligten - wir denken an euch und hoffen weiterhin das Beste. Our thought are with @SophiaFloersch and the others injured, we hope for the best. #StayStrongSophia," he wrote.

McLaren Formula One driver Fernando Alonso also sent his good thoughts to the teenage hoping for "good news" soon.

"All my thoughts are with Sophia Florsch after the accident at Macau. Let's hope to receive positive news soon ! Keep strong," he tweeted.

Canadian driver Robert Wickens tweeted, "After waking up to hear @SophiaFloersch was in a horrific crash in Macau. This is incredible news. You're a strong on Sophia! I saw it first hand at our fitness camps! Hope you have a success surgery and a healthy recovery."

The accident happened after Floersch lost the control of her car following which she catapulted in the air sustaining several injuries.

However, the 17-year-old conveyed that she would be undergoing a surgery.

"Just wanted to let everybody know that I am fine but will be going into Surgery tomorrow morning. Thanks to the @fia and @hwaag_official @MercedesAMGF1 who are taking great care of me. Thanks to everybody for the Supporting messages. Update soon," she tweeted.
