Georgia [USA], Nov 21 (ANI): Britain's most decorated athlete Mo Farah, who is all set to compete in the 2019 London marathon, has stated that his aim is "to win the race one day."

The four-time Olympics gold-medalist recently set a European record of 2:05:11 at the Chicago Marathon which was held in October, this year.

Farah believes that the victory in Chicago is a key to maintain the momentum for the upcoming competitions.

"My aim is to win London marathon one day. I don't know when that's going to be but the more I can run in London the more I can learn about the race and learn about the course and come up with a way that could suit me," CNN quoted Farah, as saying.

"To win a major marathon in Chicago, my third marathon, and to have one title is great, and I think from there hopefully I just keep maintaining. I think that's key," he added.

The 2019 London marathon will be Farah's third attempt to win the race. The last British man to clinch victory in the marathon was Eamonn Martin who did it back in 1993.

In this year's London marathon, Farah had finished third with a timing of 2:06:21. Kenya's Eliud Kipchoge had won the race for the third time when he clocked a time of 2:04:17. (ANI)
