Washington D.C [USA], Nov 15 (ANI): A day after the office of US First Lady Melania Trump issued a statement calling for Deputy National Security Advisor (NSA) Mira Ricardel's ouster from the White House, the top aide has been transferred from her position.
"Mira Ricardel will continue to support the President as she departs the White House to transition to a new role within the Administration. The President is grateful for Ms Ricardel's continued service to the American people and her steadfast pursuit of his national security priorities," read a statement issued by Press Secretary Sarah Sanders.
Quoting an official, CNN reported that US President Donald Trump was angry - "Yes, he's pissed - at damn near everyone," the official said.
The deputy NSA's ouster was called for by Melania on Tuesday, following which Trump had decided to relieve Ricardel from her duties, a White House official confirmed.
Ricardel, a longtime government official has served stints at the departments of State, Defense, and Commerce.
A former Bush-era defense official who also worked for Boeing, Ricardel advised Trump's transition team on defence issues in late 2016 and early 2017, reported the Wall Street Journal. (ANI)
