Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], July 20 (ANI): Milind Prabhat, son of poet and lyricist Gopaldas Neeraj, has said that the demise of his father has left a huge void in his life.
He said, "It's very difficult to rule for so long on Kavi Sammelans. His death has left a huge void in my life, but he will be remembered by everyone. It's a loss not only for me but also for the society and the nation."
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also condoled the death of the noted poet and lyricist.
"Saddened by the demise of noted poet and lyricist Shri Gopaldas 'Neeraj.' Shri Neeraj's unique style connected him with people from all walks of life, across generations. His works are unforgettable gems, which will live on and inspire many. Condolences to his admirers," he had tweeted.
Gopaldas Saxena was an Indian poet and author of Hindi literature.He was also part of the Hindi Kavi Sammelan.
'Neeraj' is known for his works in collaboration with noted music directors like S.D. Burman and Shankar-Jaikishan.
The 93-year-old breathed his last on Thursday at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi. (ANI)
