Mumbai, Apr 25 (PTI) The Committee of Administrators (CoA) for the Mumbai Cricket Association today heard suggestions of its members on the Lodha Panel recommendations.
A fresh draft of MCA constitution will be prepared, the CoA made it clear.
After taking charge of the MCA, the CoA, comprising retired judges Justice H L Gokhale and Justice V M Kanade had called for the meeting today.
"We had convened the meeting to receive suggestions of member clubs on the Lodha Committee recommendations, and they have given their suggestions, we have heard and considered them," Justice Gokhale told reporters.
"It (the Supreme Court order) is binding. It is a democratic system, we have to hear them, we have heard them. We cannot do anything contradictory to the Lodha committee recommendations. Apart from that, if there are suggestions worth considering, we will consider," he added.
Justice Gokhale said the next step for the CoA would be to prepare a fresh draft constitution for the MCA.
"Next step is to prepare the draft of the (MCA) constitution," he said, adding that he was not talking about the draft prepared by an erstwhile MCA committee.
"If it was to be accepted, the high court would not have appointed us," he said.
Justice Kanade said the CoA has been directed to implement the Lodha Panel reforms.
"We have been directed to see that Lodha Committee report will be implemented, to see that there is fair distribution of IPL tickets, to convene a meeting and invite suggestions on the erstwhile committee's amendments," he added.
Former Mumbai players Milind Rege, Lalchand Rajput among others attended the meeting.
