Shimla, Apr 16 (PTI) Maximum temperatures dropped by four to nine degrees Celsius in different parts of Himachal Pradesh as rains and thunderstorm lashed isolated places in the state.

Sky remained heavily overcast in state capital Shimla and adjoining areas and intermittent heavy showers lashed the region, the MeT said.

The maximum temperatures dropped to 34.3 degree Celsius in Una, 30.0 degrees Celsius in Nahan, 26.6 degrees Celsius in Dharamsala, 26.5 degrees Celsius in Sundernagar and 26.0 degrees Celsius in Solan.

Mercury dropped from 31.1 degrees Celsius to 21.1 degrees Celsius at Bhuntar.

Palampur recorded a high of 24.9 degrees Celsius, followed by Shimla 22.1 degrees Celsius, Kalpa 19.2 degrees Celsius, Manali 19.0 degrees Celsius and Keylong 13.2 degrees Celsius.

Keylong was coldest in the region with a low of 3.1 degrees Celsius, followed by Manali 4.6 degrees Celsius, Kalpa 5.5 degrees Celsius, Shimla 9.7 degrees Celsius, Bhuntar 10.4 degrees Celsius, Bhuntar 11.9 degrees Celsius, Solan 12.6 degrees Celsius, Dharamsala 13.8 degrees Celsius, Nahan 16.7 degrees Celsius and Una 17.0 degrees Celsius.

The MeT has predicted rains and thunderstorm in mid and lower hills and rains or snow in higher hills for the next five days.

The farmers are worried as rains and storm could cause extensive damage to standing wheat crop in lower hills, stone fruit crops in mid hills and apple crop in mid and higher hills.
