Ghaziabad, May 9 (PTI) The police here claimed that a 50-year-old property dealer, who was found dead in his office last month, had shot himself due to his financial troubles.
Earlier, it was suspected that Naresh Yadav had been murdered.
Senior Superintendent of Police Vaibhav Krishna said a police team gathered evidence through locals, forensics and mobile call details.
"Investigation revealed that Yadav had killed himself due to financial crisis," Krishna said.
On the day of the incident, Yadav gave a call to his close friend Jogendra alias Jugnu and asked him to come to his office near Tigri roundabout in Vijay nagar police station area, the SSP said.
Yadav went with Jugnu in the latter's car to village Iteda under police station Bisrakh, he added.
"From there Yadav took back his country made pistol (CMP) of 315 bore, which he had given to his relative Bijendra for keeping it safely. Thereafter he went to Shivpuri colony and purchased two cartridges by paying two hundred rupees to a security guard Aditya Mishra," Krishna said.
The same day around 9.30 am Jugnu dropped property dealer Yadav at his office.
"Around 10.30 am Yadav shot himself inside his office," the SSP said adding probably the deceased found this mode of committing suicide less painful.
Today morning we have arrested Jogendra, Bijendra and security guard Aditya Mishra, Krishna said.
"The charges include keeping illegal CMP and for selling cartridges of licensee rifle. Police seized rifle and 10 live cartridges, one country made pistol and one i-20 car which was used to help property dealer to bring CMP and cartridges," the SSP added.
