Washington D.C. [USA], Oct 20 (ANI): American singer-songwriter Loretta Lynn has returned home after a brief hospital stay and is now resting.
A record label spokesperson for the singer issued a statement on her behalf, in which the star said that she had "a brief hospital visit" but is now "enjoying a weekend of resting up at home," reported Variety.
Lynn's representative also said, "Please note, Michael Lynn is not a known relative and does not speak on behalf of Loretta Lynn or her family."
Earlier, a social media account claiming to belong to a relative named Michael Lynn had revealed about the singer's condition, claiming she was "back in the hospital with some serious issues."
Repeating the 'Fist City' singer's statement, a Sony music publicist said, "I've watched the CMT show more than once now and am so proud of the amazing job all the girls did! I especially appreciated my sweet friend, Sissy (Spacek), and thought she just made the show!"
"I can't thank everyone enough for the kind words and this amazing award from CMT. I was so disappointed to have missed it because I was sick. After a brief hospital visit, I'm feeling better now and enjoying a weekend of resting up at home. Love y'all, Loretta," added the publicist.
The alarming post claiming to be from a family member Michael Lynn is being called fake by the family and has been removed from Facebook.
The 86-year-old star has suffered many medical setbacks in the recent months. In May last year, after completing her latest album titled 'Wouldn't It Be Great', she suffered a stroke and earlier this year, she injured her hip.
After missing the 2018 CMT Artists of the Year ceremony, she wrote in a recent social media post, "Well Y'all, leave it to me to go and get sick on the very night all my friends are getting together to honour me at the CMT Award Show as their Artist of a Lifetime. I can't believe that I'm not gonna be there tonight in person, but I am watching and I'm there in spirit!"
Lynn has been credited with many accolades including the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2010, the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2013, the Americana Music Association's Lifetime Achievement Award for songwriting in 2014 and the Academy of Country Music's Crystal Milestone Award in 2015.
