London [UK], Nov 13 (ANI): Liverpool forward Daniel Sturridge has been charged for breaching the betting regulations of the Football Association (FA).

The 29-year-old is accused of breaking the FA rule which prohibits the players from betting on the result of the match.

Responding to the allegations, a Liverpool spokesperson said that the footballer has "categorically" denied the charges adding that he has assured full cooperation with the authorities throughout the process.

"Daniel has given his full and unequivocal cooperation throughout this process and has assured the club he will continue to do so," goal.com quoted the spokesperson, as saying.

"Daniel has also stated categorically that he has never gambled on football. As with any issue of this nature, we will allow the process to be concluded in its entirety before making any further comment," the spokesperson added.

Sturridge has been given the time till November 20 to respond to the allegations. (ANI)
