Washington D.C. [USA] Oct 8 (ANI): American rapper Lil Wayne has nabbed the number one spot on the Billboard charts with his latest album 'Tha Carter V.'

This is Wayne's fourth No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart.

He previously topped the tally with Tha Carter IV (two weeks at No. 1 in 2011), I Am Not a Human Being (one week at No. 1 in 2010) and Tha Carter III (three weeks at No. 1, 2008). In total, Tha Carter V is Lil Wayne's 15th entry on the list and 11th top 10, reported The Hollywood Reporter.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the United States based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units.

Last month, the rapper opened up about how he tried to end his life when he was 12-years-old. According to his new Billboard cover story, Wayne told how he found a gun in his mother's home when he was 12-years-old and shot himself in the chest, just missing his heart.

Wayne has sold over 100 million records worldwide, including more than 15 million albums and 37 million digital tracks in the United States, making him one of the best selling artists of all time. (ANI)
