Chennai, Nov 22 (PTI) Matchmaking service provider Matrimony.com has forayed into the domestic job market industry with the launch of a separate vertical ManyJobs.com, a top official said on Friday.
The city-headquartered company after being in the matrimony services for more than two decades has launched ManyJobs.com platform targeted at potential job seekers and would be initially available in Tamil and English languages, Matrimony.com CEO Murugavel Janakiraman said here.
"For the very first time, after almost two decades being in matrimony services, we are launching a complete job portal -- ManyJobs.com, a different vertical altogether. This will be the first India's grey collar job portal for job seekers," he told reporters on Friday.
Janakiraman said as compared to white and blue collar jobs, grey collar jobs comprises customer service industry, sales, retail, hospitality sector and currently, a lot of job openings were available in this segment.
"This is the unique aspect of this portal. We want to focus on the grey color job sector as there is huge demand for employees. This is an exclusive platform for frontline and entry level job seekers in Tamil Nadu." he said.
Tamil Nadu Minister for Industries TRB Rajaa formally launched the ManyJobs.com at an event here in the city.
"I congratulate ManyJobs.com for launching this initiative. I wish manyjobs.com will create many, many jobs in Tamil Nadu. It is good to launch the service in the State as Tamil Nadu is the investment capital of India and we will create many more jobs here," he said.
Later, highlighting some of the key features of the portal, Janakiraman said ManyJobs.com would enable a job seeker to search for jobs in their preferred cities. "All the jobs posted are 100 per cent verified to maintain authenticity and a job seeker can connect with an HR person (of ManyJobs.com) directly for any assistance", he said.
"Within the six months of the launch we are aiming for 1 million job seekers." he said.
"We are launching this service in TN. After attaining success, we are planning to launch it across India," he said.
Responding to a query, he said the service would be available free of charge for job seekers and the company has plans to 'monetise' from those companies who use their portal.
Janakiraman attributed the diversified industrial base, availability of robust infrastructure as some of the key reasons for foraying into the job market industry in the State.
He said there was also a plan to collaborate with the Tamil Nadu government to offer training to freshers with relevant skills to become employable.
