New Delhi, April 17 (PTI) Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal today ordered the transfer of Food and Supplies Commissioner K R Meena to the Land and Building Department, days after the AAP dispensation sought action against him for alleged irregularities in the delivery of ration.

The transfer order by the Lt. Governor, issued yesterday, stated that Meena was transferred and posted as the principal secretary of the Land and Building department.

Mohanjeet Singh, principal secretary-cum-commissioner of Industries, will hold the additional charge as principal secretary-cum- commissioner of Food Supplies and Consumer Affairs.

Last week, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had claimed that the Delhi government found "open theft" in the delivery of ration in the city and demanded suspension of Meena.

Sisodia had also demanded the approval of Baijal for the AAP government's ambitious scheme for doorstep delivery of ration and stopping the existing e-PoS (Electronic Point of Sale) system, under which beneficiaries are given ration through biometric identification.

He had alleged that the e-POS system, implemented in the city from January 1, was leading to "open theft" in the distribution of ration.

The Lt Governor yesterday suspended the e-PoS system as was demanded by the AAP dispensation and ordered the Anti-Corruption Branch to investigate the alleged misuse of OTP authentication in the delivery of ration.
