Ranchi, Jun 24 (PTI) Jharkhand Director General of Police D K Pandey today visited Kochang village in Khunti district where the alleged kidnap and gang rape of five women had taken place earlier this week, though no further arrests were made in the case.

Pandey said the investigations in the case was progressing well and all the criminals will be arrested soon.

"The incident is being investigated and it is very satisfactory and going on the right direction. Whoever is the guilty will be punished," he said.

Additional Director General of Police R K Malik said the police would consider setting up a camp at Kochang.

Father Alfonso, the head of the missionary school, from where the five women working with an NGO were allegedly abducted and later gang-raped, had been booked on Friday for not reporting the incident to police.

But he was let off on personal bond after preliminary interrogation.

Two others spotted during an identification parade were also arrested on Friday night. They were sent to judicial custody.

Four other persons have been identified in the case.

The five women working with an NGO were allegedly raped at gunpoint by a group of at least five men when they had gone to the village under Arki police station to create awareness on migration and human trafficking on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Jharkhand government had earlier announced that 44 all-woman police stations would be set up in the state. Malik said that all these police stations would become functional very soon.
