Chennai, May 28 (PTI): Jewels pledged by customers estimated to be worth crores of rupees and kept in safe deposit lockers in the branch of a public sector bank were burgled in neighbouring Tiruvallur district, police said today.

The robbery came to light when bank staff came to open the branch which was closed over the weekend, police said.

Police have collected CCTV footage from the bank and further investigation was on, he said.
