INLD Demands Reservation in Jobs for Haryana Youths

Chandigarh, Oct 1 (PTI) Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) leader Dushyant Chautala on Monday knocked on the doors of the Raj Bhawan, demanding employment and justice for the youth of Haryana.

Presenting a memorandum to Governor Satyadev Narayan Arya here, the Hisar MP accused the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party of going back on its promises to the youth while seeking their support during the 2014 Lok Sabha poll.

Chautala reminded that the BJP had failed to fulfil its promise in its manifesto to reserve 25-per-cent jobs in private sector for the youth of the state, as well as giving a monthly allowance of Rs 6000 and Rs 9000 per month to unemployed Class XII pass, graduates and post-graduates in return of 100 hours of part-time jobs.

The INLD leader demanded that there should be reservations in jobs for the Haryana youth in the private sector. He drew the attention of the governor to the rules in vogue in many states of the country that reserve jobs for its bonafide residents.

For example, he said, in Himachal Pradesh, industrial enterprises undergoing substantial expansion reserved at least 70 per cent jobs for the local bonafide residents. Similarly, in Maharashtra, industrial houses have to ensure a minimum of 50 per cent jobs for the locals, he said, pointing out that even in Telengana, jobs were reserved for the locals.

Dushyant lamented that while lakhs of jobs were created in Gurugram yet the representation of Haryana youth is abysmal.

A mere 20 per cent of the advertised posts have been filled during the past four years, though the government collects lakhs of rupees from the unemployed youth in the name of application forms, he added.
