India, Suriname Sign Bilateral Documents in Foreign Affairs, Tourism

India and Suriname on Wednesday signed a range of bilateral of agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) in the field of foreign affairs and tourism.

Paramaribo [Suriname], June 20 (ANI): India and Suriname on Wednesday signed a range of bilateral of agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) in the field of foreign affairs and tourism.

Suriname President Desire Delano Bouterse presented Instrument of Ratification on the Framework Agreement on the Establishment of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) to Indian President Ram Nath Kovind.

A Dollar Credit Line Agreement was signed between Suriname and India regarding the EBS project to upgrade of the Transmission Network Infrastructure for an amount of United States Dollar 27.5 million.

Another Credit of Line Agreement was signed between the two countries regarding the project "Service and Maintenance of three Chetak Helicopters" for an amount of USD 3.5 million.

An arrangement was set up between the Government of the Republic of Suriname and the Government of the Republic of India for authorising the dependents of members of a diplomatic mission or consular post to engage in gainful employment.

An MoU was also signed between the Suriname Diplomatic Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Suriname and the Foreign Service Institute of India.

Another MoU was signed on mutual understanding and cooperation in the field of elections between the ministry of home affairs of the Republic of Suriname and the election commission of India.

Suriname and India signed a MoU to set up a Centre for Excellence in Information Technology.

Suriname's Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Culture of India signed a MoU in the field of archives.

A letter of intent was signed between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Suriname and the Ministry of External Affairs of the Republic of India on "The project every student a computer".

They also signed Letter of Intent on "The project craft market place palmentuin".

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Home Affairs of Suriname and India's Ministry of Culture signed an MoU in the field of archives. (ANI)
