India, Russia Collaborate to Create Common Engineering Facility Center

Ranchi (Jharkhand) [India], June 6 (ANI): The Jharkhand-based Common Engineering Facility center, a joint collaboration of Indian public sector undertaking named 'Heavy Engineering Corporation Limited' and Russian-based Atomenergomash's subsidiary JSC RPA "CNIITMASH" has started functioning here on Wednesday.
The engineering center has initiated a training program named 'Technologies and Equipment for Welding of Items for Heavy and Power Engineering' for the Indian students.
The first batch of the center comprises of 23 attendees. They will be participating in a two-month course. The program includes lectures and practical sessions, and it will conclude with final exams.
In the run-up to the course, "CNIITMASH" has done meticulous preparation to develop the training program tailored specifically for the Indian industry.
"We hope that the students will be able to learn a lot from the advanced Russian experience. We are looking forward to the first results; and, of course, we would like this to serve as a template for setting up more joint training centers in the field of engineering and machine-building," pointed out the Head of Foreign Trade Department of "CNIITMASH" Andrey Ageev.
In 2018, the experts of the Russian Institute will conduct eight more training courses in the fields of steel melting, metallurgical treatment, and electro-slag re-melting technologies, destructive and non-destructive testing methods, construction design, and technologies for gear manufacturing. The duration of each training course is between one to four months.
The training courses will run throughout the year and will enable to improve the skills of personnel of Indian engineering enterprises. More than 200 people are likely to attend the program.
Heavy Engineering Corporation Ltd is an Indian company partially owned by the Government of India and it operates in the field of heavy engineering.
