Dehradun, July 21: On the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami planted a sapling with his mother under the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign on Sunday. The tree plantation programme was organised on Sunday under the aegis of the Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) on the vacant land on the banks of the Rispana River at Gangotri Vihar on Canal Road. Chief Minister Dhami planted a sapling in the name of his mother, Bishna Devi. His mother was also present at the event. Chief Minister Dhami said that a massive tree plantation campaign is being run in the state from the Harela festival (July 16) to August 15. Along with the construction of a walking track, such plants would be planted, which can also promote biodiversity here. On this occasion, the Vice President also planted a tree in the name of his mother, Savitri Devi.
