Etawah (Uttar Pradesh) [India], September 2 (ANI): A leopard who was rescued from Bijnor in Uttar Pradesh has died after being brought for treatment to the Lion Safari Park in Etawah, an official said on Saturday. 

The body of the big cat which passed away on August 31 has been sent to Bareilly for a post-mortem.

According to the official, the leopard was rescued three days ago from Dayalpura village in Uttar Pradesh's Bijnor. The big cat had serious injuries when it was brought to the Etawah Safari Park. 

"The leopard was rescued from Bijnor and was brought to our Safari Park here in Etawah. When he was brought, he had serious injuries on his head and nose. He was being treated by our doctors but he started having epileptic seizures. He died at 8:50 p.m. on August 31", Diksha Bhandari, Director of Etawah Safari Park told ANI.

Meanwhile, in Madhya Pradesh a leopard that was brought to the Indore Zoo in the state’s Dewas district for treatment on Wednesday is in a critical condition.

According to authorities, the age of the leopard was about 10 years and there were no injury marks on its body. Villagers were spotted playing and taking selfies with the leopard who according to the authorites is suffering from a neurological disorder. (ANI)
