Shingnapur (Maharashtra) [India], October 3 (ANI): Two days after violence between two communities was reported from Shingnapur the situation is now peaceful.

Speaking to ANI, police personnel, Chhote Pappuwale said. "Two days ago, there was a fight in two villages in Shingnapur. One of them died. After the crime, the village is peaceful now."

The police have filed a case against 10-12 individuals and have arrested four suspects. The family of the deceased refused to claim the body until all the accused were arrested, causing tension for a while. Currently, the situation is peaceful, and the police are searching for the remaining accused.

The alleged incident between two groups in Shingnapur, Washim district, took place on Tuesday evening. The incident resulted in the death of one individual.

The brother of the deceased lodged a complaint at Karanja Rural Police Station on October 2. According to the complaint, two men had a dispute in the field. Later, when one of the men and his wife were returning home from the field, the other man and his relatives allegedly molested his wife, asked her to remove her sari and beat her up.

After the incident of assault, there were reports of stone pelting between the two communities. The police have however dismissed the stone-pelting incident, stating that no such incident occurred in front of them. (ANI)
