West Tripura, July 3: A husband and wife lost their lives after their mud house collapsed due to heavy rainfall in the Mekhli Para area of Ranibazar. Two daughters of the couple also sustained injuries in the incident. The children are in stable condition and receiving treatment at the hospital, where they are being provided with all necessary facilities by the government.

Meanwhile, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha expressed his sadness over the incident and mentioned that the state government and local administration have already taken necessary steps, including providing financial assistance and assuring full support to the family during this difficult time.
"Due to excessive rainfall, a tragic incident in Khayerpur Mekhalipara Gram Panchayat claimed the lives of Pranesh and Jhuma Tanti, from the same family. Their daughters, aged 4 months and 9 years, are currently receiving medical treatment. I am deeply saddened by this incident," CM Saha said in a post on X.
