Agartala (Tripura) [India], November 11 (ANI): Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha, attended the State-Level Workshop of the Uttar Poorav Transformative Industrialisation Scheme (UNNATI 2024), held at Pragna Bhaban, Agartala.
The workshop was organized by the Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Tripura, in collaboration with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Government of India.
Speaking on occasion, CM Saha said, "PM Modi says India can only develop if North East also develops. UNNATI has been started to revolutionize industry sector. In the next 10 years, 83,000 jobs will be generated and the budget is Rs 10,037 crores. Tripura has been placed in category B. The minimum investment would be 1 crore and incentive would be given. This is an opportunity to build a competitive market."
"Registration started on March 9 and it will go on till March 31, 2026. The aim is to raise awareness. Ease of doing business has been achieved since this govt came to power in 2018. We have started the state Investment promotion department for people coming from other states. Our focus is on MSME. 2.1 lakh MSMEs exist in Tripura. Nearly 3 lakh people are employed in micro industries," he added.
He further said that if investors come in, Tripura will also progress. "And I hope that investors will come to Tripura and investors from the business circle will surely take advantage of it," he added.
The event aimed to foster discussions on the transformative industrialization of the northeastern region under the UNNATI scheme, which is designed to promote industrial growth, boost employment, and enhance economic opportunities across Uttar Poorav states.
The workshop was also graced by key officials, including Vishwasree B., Director of Industries and Commerce, Government of Tripura, and Kiran Gitte, Secretary of the Department of Industries and Commerce, who emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts between state and central authorities to drive industrial progress in the region.
During his address, the Chief Minister highlighted the significant potential for industrial development in Tripura, stressing the role of such initiatives in achieving sustainable growth and improving the livelihoods of the state's residents.
