Hyderabad, September 25: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy handed over a cheque for Rs. 1 crore to athlete Deepthi Jeevanji, who won a bronze medal in the Paralympics, and Rs. 10 lakh to her coach. Earlier this month on September 7, the Chief Minister had instructed officials to take steps to provide Deepthi Jeevanji with a Group-2 job, Rs. 1 crore cash reward, and 500 square yards of land in Warangal. On Tuesday, at his Jubilee Hills residence, the Chief Minister handed over the cheque to Deepthi and her coach.

Sports Chairman Siva Sena Reddy and sports officials participated in the program. Deepthi and her coach expressed happiness over receiving the cheque within the promised two-week timeframe. Deepthi Jeevanji won a bronze medal in the Women's 400m T20 event at her Paralympics debut in Paris. Brazil's Antonia Keyla Da Silva Barros also produced her season's best performance, finishing third and qualifying for the final with a time of 57.54 seconds. Deepthi, whose talent was discovered by SAI coach N Ramesh in Hyderabad, started her para-athletics journey in 2019.
