Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu) [India], October 8 (ANI): As part of Territorial Army Day Celebrations, 110 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) Madras Regiment organised a mega event "Veer Gatha: An Evening with TA Warriors" at Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts & Science, Peelamedu, Coimbatore.

During the event, a total of 13 Veer Naris (war widows), Gallantry Awardees & Battle Casualties of Coimbatore District were felicitated.

Various programs showcasing the life of an Army person were organized in the event. Kalaripayattu & Chendamelam Display by Kovai Terriers was the highlight of the evening.

Army Recruiting office also set up an exhibition to showcase various options for youth to Join the Armed Forces. Kranthi Kumar Pati, IAS, District Collector, Coimbatore, V Balakrishnan, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Coimbatore city and M Prathap, IAS, Commissioner Municipal Corporation of Coimbatore were also present.

Senior officers from the Army, Navy, Air Force & Civil Administration, College Students, NCC Cadets, troops & their families took part in the event.

Colonel Dinesh Singh Tanwer, Commanding Officer, 110 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) MADRAS thanked all the people who contributed to making the event a grand success. Around 1,100 persons attended the first-of-its-kind event organized in Coimbatore. (ANI)
