A Sub-Inspector of Police from Hyderabad has been caught red-handed by ACB while demanding and accepting Rs 25,000 as a bribe.
On Monday, the sub-Inspector of police from SR Nagar Police station of Hyderabad was caught by the Anti-Corruption Bureau.
"Sub-Inspector Bellana Bhaskar Rao has demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs 25,000 from a complainant Mohammed Khadim for not involving him in a criminal case registered at SR Nagar Police station," said the ACB official.
The Sub-Inspector has further influenced the Civil Supplies Department to let go complainant's van which was seized.
"The bribe amount was recovered from the accused officer. The police officer has been arrested and is being produced before the principal special judge for SPE and ACB cases," the official added. (ANI)
