Pithoragarh, October 12: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday unveiled projects of over Rs 4000 crore in Uttarakhand and said India is achieving new heights of success. Addressing a gathering here, the Prime Minister said the Tricolour is flying high in every area and recalled the success of Chandrayaan Mission and India winning its highest number of medals in the Asian Games.

"I have a belief that this will be Uttarakhand's decade...Uttarakhand will reach new prospects of development and our government is working with that one motive. He also referred to Parliament passing 'Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam' which provides 33 per cent reservation to women in Lok Sabha and assembly seats. Earlier in the day, PM Modi performed pooja at Parvati Kund here in Pithoragarh and interacted with personnel of Army, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Border Roads Organisation (BRO). He also offered prayers at Jageshwar Dham temple in Almora district. Located at a height of about 6200 feet, the Jageshwar Dham comprises of about 224 stone temples.

The projects that were inaugurated and dedicated to the nation by the Prime Minister include 76 rural roads and 25 bridges built in rural areas under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana.
