New Delhi, June 29: After veteran Congress leader D Srinivas Garu passed away on Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences and said that the former MP will be remembered for his long years in public service. Taking to their official X handle, the PMO India quoted Narendra Modi and posted, "Saddened by the passing away of former MP D. Srinivas Garu. He will be remembered for his long years in public service and efforts to empower the poor."
The post added further, "My thoughts are with his family and supporters in this hour of grief." Srinivas, a three-time MLA from Nizamabad (rural) served as a two-time president of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee. He led the party to power in the 2004 and 2009 elections in the undivided state of Andhra Pradesh.
