Dhenkanal (Odisha) [India], August 27 (ANI): Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Sunday met Odisha's Dhenkanal District Collector Saroj Kumar Sethi at the Collector's office in Odisha's Dhenkanal and discussed people's grievances.

While talking to the reporters, Pradhan said, "Today, we have started the 'Meri Mati Mera Desh' program here. The villagers asked me to visit the school. The facilities in the school were not complete. I met the collector regarding it. People complained about other problems also. We asked the collector to send a proposal to the central government. Center will provide 7 percent assistance".

A large number of local residents submitted their grievances at the Government Primary School in Harekrushnapur.

After meeting the local grievances, Pradhan met district collector Sethi and submitted people's grievances in regarding of development of government primary school at Harekrushnapur, several concern of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMYA) and pending cases of MGNREGA. Pradhan also asked the district collector to keep eye on developmental work and reselove the local residents issues in the district asap.

Union Minister Pradhan went beyond official protocol and met Dhenkanal district collector at collector office for the benefits of local people in Odisha.

Earlier in the day, the Education Minister launched the Amrit Kalash Yatra under 'Meri Mati Mera Desh' at Dhenkanal, Odisha.

He also visited the birthplace of freedom fighter Sarangadhar Das.

After visiting the place of freedom fighter Sarangdhar Das in Odisha, Pradhan said, "Odisha is the land of martyrs, we have launched this program in remembrance of all of them...We have collected soil from this land and it will reach the hands of PM Narendra Modi in Delhi." (ANI)
