Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India], September 12 (ANI): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi distributed appointment letters to 476 newly-recruited government officers and employees at the 'Nijukti Mela' in Bhubaneswar on Thursday.

The newly-recruited officers and employees will be appointed to seven different departments of the state department.

Speaking at the event held at Lok Seva Bhavan, CM Mohan Majhi urged the new employees and officers to work with dedication and commitment. The Chief Minister stressed on ensuring different government schemes reach the intended beneficiaries.

The Chief Minister further stated that the government is determined to fill up 1.5 lakh vacant posts in five years.

"The foundation for the significant task has been laid today with the handing over of these appointment letters. Future recruitment will be made in a transparent manner," CM Majhi said.

He also criticised the previous government for leaving a large number of posts vacant and depending heavily on outsourcing. "Over 3.5 lakh employment opportunities will also be created in industries," the CM added. (ANI)
