He said that the BJP party leader met all those family members who had lost their loved ones after consuming illicit liquor in Tamil Nadu's Kallakurichi district and added that the Tamil Nadu BJP would provide Rs 1 lakh to each affected family member. Annamalai has also urged Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin to personally meet the affected people in the Kallakurichi hooch tragedy instead of just sending his son Udhayanidhi Stalin. He also said that the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, MK Stalin, in his 2021 election manifesto, said liquor sales will be decreased in Tamil Nadu in a phased manner; however, contrary to that, sales of liquor in Tamil Nadu are increasing by 18 to 20 per cent every year.

"CM, in his 2021 election manifesto, said liquor sales will be decreased in Tamil Nadu in a phased manner. But 18 to 20 per cent of sales of liquor in Tamil Nadu are increasing year by year... From the DMK side, it is deeply disappointing that CM MK Stalin has yet to come to Kallakurichi but he is sending his son Udhayandihi Stalin. Even in such a time, he wants to do dynastic politics," he said.
