New Delhi [India], October 14 (ANI): The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) carried out raids at 20 locations including in Ranchi, Jharkhand, against IAS officer Manish Ranjan, Drinking Water and Sanitation Minister Mithlesh Thakur, and his associates, in connection with the alleged irregularities into the Jal Jeevan Mission, sources said.

The probe agency reportedly conducted the searches at the premises of IAS Manish Ranjan, Vinay Thakur, the brother of Mithlesh Thakur, his personal secretary Harendra Singh, and others at locations in Ranchi

The search operations also covered government officials, contractors and businessmen.

Several documents and electronic devices were reportedly seized during the raids.

The investigation is based on complaints of corruption and discrepancies in the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission across several districts in Jharkhand.
