New Delhi [India], October 24 (ANI): The chief minister of Jammu & Kashmir Union Territory Omar Abdullah met Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi on Thursday evening.
This was Omar Abdullah's first meeting with the Defence Minister after he assumed the CM post of UT J&K on Oct 16.
During the meeting, Singh expressed the NDA government's willingness to work with J&K's government for the region's progress under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"Met with the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah in New Delhi. The NDA Govt under PM Narendra Modi is looking forward to working with him for J&K's progress," said Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in a post on X.

Earlier, Omar Abdullah also met Home Minister Amit Shah, Minister of Roads, Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the national capital.
Earlier on October 16, Omar Abdullah was sworn in as the first Chief Minister of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Abdullah recently resigned from the Budgam Assembly constituency and retained the Ganderbal seat that remains the bastion of the National Conference (NC).
This comes after he won two Assembly seats in the recently held assembly elections. Omar Abdullah had earlier served as Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir from 2009 and 2015. (ANI)
