Sirmaur (Himachal Pradesh) [India], October 7 (ANI): Two students of Class-VII of a school in Himachal Pradesh's Sirmaur district donated their pocket money towards the disaster relief fund on Saturday by presenting their piggy banks.
According to an official statement, the students, Srishti Chauhan and Aniket Chauhan, from Government Senior Secondary School, Saino in Sirmaur district, contributed Rs 3817 and Rs 1004 respectively, towards 'Aapda Rahat Kosh'.

They presented their piggy banks to Education Minister Rohit Thakur who later, passed on the contributions to Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Saturday.
Appreciating the gesture of these small children, the Chief Minister said that it was a matter of delight that these children have come forward to donate generously to extend a helping hand to the disaster-affected people and that they could feel their sufferings.
Every contribution is valuable irrespective of the size of the donation, CM Sukhu added.
Himachal Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh and MLA Ashish Sharma were also present on the occasion.
Earlier in the day, Vikramaditya Singh presented a cheque worth Rs 45.43 lakh to CM Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu in Shimla towards 'Aapda Rahat Kosh' on behalf of officers and officials of the Public Works Department.
According to the CMO, Lahaul-Spiti Deputy Commissioner, Rahul Kumar, adding to the wave of support, also delivered a cheque of Rs 5 lakh towards the 'Aapda Rahat Kosh' on the same occasion.
Notably, Himachal Pradesh has witnessed a catastrophe this year with the monsoon causing massive infrastructural damage and claiming several lives. (ANI)
