New Delhi, October 3: A doctor was shot dead by two teenagers at the NIMA Hospital in the Jaitpur area of the national capital, police said on Thursday. A doctor, practicing Unani, was shot dead by the teenagers who visited his nursing home in south Delhi for treatment. According to the police, the BUMS doctor identified as Javed Akhtar, was killed by the accused, who had come to the hospital seeking medical attention for an injury on Wednesday.
"As per the hospital staff, the duo arrived at NIMA Hospital in Jaitpur under the Kalindi Kunj Poice Station area for an injury and later requested to meet doctor Javed. After being given an appointment to meet him inside his cabin, the accused shot him and fled the scene," said police. Abid, a worker at the hospital, said, "The incident occurred around 1 am. The police further said that the CCTV footage from the hospital shows both accused exiting the hospital premises. Shortly after the incident, the District Crime Team and forensics personnel from Rohini Team arrived at the scene of the incident. "A search is underway for the absconding accused. CCTV footage is being reviewed to track them down. All the facts are being investigated," said the police.
