New Delhi [India], October 20 (ANI): Delhi Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested five people in connection with the firing incident near Raja Market in Welcome area of the national capital.

According to officials, one person, identified as Ifra, was injured in the firing that took place on Saturday and was admitted to GTB Hospital for treatment.

"Yesterday (October 19) an information received in Police Station welcome regarding quarrel and firing at Z-II Near Raja Market Welcome, on receiving of information police staff reached at the place of occurrence where 08 empty cartridges, 02 live cartridges and 07 deformed metal piece were found in the street," the police said.

As per police,the five accused, namely Samad (28), Shanu (30), Kasim (23), Hasim (22), Mohd Noor (22) allegedly fired multiple gunshots at each other over a dispute.

Police were able to apprehend the suspects with the help of a confidential informant and technical surveillance, conducting raids at multiple locations to make the arrests.

Three weapons, two live cartridges, and two empty cartridges from their possession.

An investigation is ongoing to identify and apprehend another suspect involved in the incident, as well as to recover any remaining weapons.

The police have registered a case under Sections 109(1)/3(5) BNS and the 27 Arms Act, and were further looking into it. (ANI)
