New Delhi, March 22: In a bid to do away with liquor syndicates, the Delhi government on Monday announced a new exercise policy for the national capital. Addressing a press conference, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said the Delhi government will not operate any liquor shops and all shops will be run through private vendors. A bidding process will be conducted soon, he added.

"The new excise policy was approved by the Cabinet today on basis of the recommendations of the Group of Ministers, after getting some reviews from citizens and analysing report of the expert committee. It was decided that no new liquor shops will be opened in the national capital and the government will not run any liquor shops," Sisodia said.
