New Delhi [India], August 2 (ANI): Three people were killed after a building in the Jahangirpuri industrial area in Delhi collapsed on Friday, said officials.

Seven people were rescued by the team of NDRF, Delhi Police, and Delhi Fire Service and shifted to a hospital, said the Municipal Corporation of Delhi in a statement.

The MCD said that the building, with an area of about 700 square yards, seemed to be very old and consisted of basement, ground floor, first floor and second floor. As per local inquiry, some workers were inside the building at the time of incident, the MCD statement said.

"It is pertinent to mention that the SMA cooperative industrial estate GT Karnal road Jahangirpuri was developed by DDA and till date it has not been handed over to the MCD for repair of road and drains etc," the statement added. (ANI)
