Bhongir (Telangana) [India], September 18 (ANI): Congress MP Kiran Kumar Chamala took to social media platform X to announce that he has filed a complaint against Shiv Sena MLA from Buldhana, Sanjay Gaikwad, for his controversial remarks about the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi.
"Today filed a complaint along with EX MP V. Hanumantha Rao and MLA's Veeresham and Mandula Samuel on Sanjay Gaikwad MLA, Maharashtra, in my native Mandal Police Station for announcing an 11 lakh reward to chop off RahulGandhi ji tongue," his tweet read.

A police complaint has been filed against Maharashtra MLA Sanjay Gaikwad for allegedly announcing an 11 lakh reward to anyone who would chop off Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's tongue. The complaint was lodged at the Shaligouraram Police Station by Kiran Kumar Chamala, along with former MP V. Hanumantha Rao and MLAs Veeresham and Mandula Samuel under sections of maintaining public tranquillity (196) and national integration (197) of the BNS.
Chamala asserted that Gaikwad's hate speech has been widely circulated on social media and Rahul Gandhi is facing severe threats of bodily harm.
Gaikwad, in his controversial remarks, said, "The kind of statement made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has exposed the true face of Congress. During the Lok Sabha elections, they sought votes by spreading lies that the Constitution was in danger, claiming that the BJP would change the Constitution. Today, in America, he said that the reservation system established by Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar would be dismantled. Such words have come from his mouth. Whoever cuts his tongue, I will give them Rs 11 lakh."
This came after Congress MP Rahul Gandhi stated that Dalits, Adivasis, and OBC communities still lack representation in the system, adding that India is not a 'fair place', during his interaction with the Indian diaspora in the US.
Earlier Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aditya Thackeray also criticised Sanjay Gaikwad, remarking that it appears there is no Home Minister in the state.
Speaking to ANI on Monday, Ramdas Athawale said, "I don't agree with the statement of Sanjay Gaikwad. We have the right to oppose Rahul Gandhi's remarks, but we can do that in other ways. We all should criticise Rahul Gandhi over his statements, but using these kinds of statements is not right." (ANI)
