The mela, which is expected to witness the participation of various state departments, will run until October 20.
Highlighting the significance of the event, State Minister Kedar Kashyap said, "Today, Saras Mela has been organised here through the district administration and it has been inaugurated today and will continue till October 20. And in this, apart from Chhattisgarh, people from other states have also come, and many groups of people have come. And different departments are being displayed here. Food departments are being displayed."
"People who come to our Dussehra festival will benefit from it. What is the intention of the government that all the schemes of the government that are being implemented at the ground level should benefit everyone? Jagdalpur MLA Kiran Dev also expressed his appreciation for the event and its connection to the local Dussehra festival.

Bastar Dussehra is unique and wonderful and this Dussehra which lasts for 75 days passes through various events. There are different methods of worship and Bastar Dussehra is celebrated by connecting different communities. Chariots are set up," he said.
