Jind, October 8: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers celebrated after party candidate Krishan Lal Middha won by a margin of 15,860 votes from Jind Assembly constituency on Tuesday afternoon. Middha was followed by Congress party's Mahavir Gupta who had been trailing with 53,060 votes. BJP workers also celebrated at the party office in Ambala, as they monitored the counting trends. As per the latest ECI trends at 2.00 PM, BJP is leading in 48 seats, followed by Congress leading in 37 seats. The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) were seen to be leading with one seat each while Independents and smaller parties were leading in three seats.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini led from the Ladwa constituency. As of 2.00 PM, Saini was leading with 59,871 votes over Congress' Mewa Singh. Bhupinder Singh Hooda was seen leading from the Garhi Sampla-Kiloi seat with 99,533 votes over his nearest rival from BJP Manju.
